Lake Hancock is one of the biggest lakes in Florida. You’ll see a lot of cypress trees around lakes. Some plants are Mobil and float in the water. Water lettuce is a plant that floats on water. Moss is moist because it sucks up soil. There are things that look like little tiny hairs, they soak the soil. You could plant a lot of plants so a hurricane doesn’t wash all the water away. Alligators are an Apex predator. As you can see there are lots of plants.

Today I will be talking about the plant and animals that live in lakes. One of these plants are cypress trees these trees help by telling people where the water level was before by looking at the brown by the roots. Did you know that there are 7,800 lakes in Lakeland alone. There are plants called Duck potatoes which I thought was funny. One of these amazing animals are yellow bellied sliders. Yellow bellied sliders are a type of turtle that camouflages in with the lake. The yellow bellied slider is also known for its webbed feet just like a frog. Another animal is an alligator which can grow up to 15 feet long. These are some of the unique lake life.

I’m going to tell you about lakes. Lake Hancock is 16 feet and the average is 4 or 14 feet. Some plants that surround it is the cypress tree. This tree has 2 different adaptations. Now I will tell you the plants that live here. The red maple is one. The red maple prevents rodents from coming. The Spanish moss. It picks up mostier. Cabbage palm. Did you know that a storm washed up a lot of there shore and because of that, we planted lots of plants. All the plants equals food and habitats for animals. Speaking of animals I’m going to tell you about a few. The yellow belied slider is known for its webbed feet and has the ability to camouflage. The spotted gar, the great egret is a predator to the spotted Gar. Crawfish and alligators. Alligators 🐊 is a apex predator. A apex predator is the top of the food chain. Did you know counter shading is camouflage. Did you know alligators can go a year without eating. Plants and animals were introduced onto the ecosystem. When alligators shed, you see scutes. Scutes are the bumpy or spiky parts on the shed or shell. Turtles had scutes to. There’s lots of activities to do at the lake like boating, swimming, fishing, tubing, hiking, and so much more. That’s all, but there’s so much more to learn about lakes. Goodbye.

Since lakes are not connected to the ocean they do not have flowing water. They are a big body of water surrounded by land. The are over 7,800 lakes just in Florida and most are in Polk County. Lakes are surrounded by cypress trees, they slow down water and prevent erosion. A plant called water lettuce floats on lakes. That plant is invasive, that means they were brought here from other state or country and there not native. An animal that lives in lakes is a yellow belly slider, that is a type of turtle. Another animal that lives in lakes is a alligator. They have scales called scutes. Alligators can go year without eating.

There are native plants and invasive plants native plants have been here for a long time, invasive plants were brought here by other people. Some animals have a exoskeleton like a crawfish. Yellow bellied sliders have a webbed feet and camouflaged. A alligator is one of the Apex predators. Those are some things I learned about in the circle b video.

To begin, lakes have mostly vertebrates and there are over 2000 in Florida and 550 in Polk county. Another fact is cypress trees and more show different levels the water has been at. Lakes have lots of cypress, cabbage palm, and duck potato. My top 3 favorite animals in lakes are alligators, great egrets, and tortoises. Alligators have bumps on their skin but are not scales but scutes. Alligators are apex predators. Alligators can go more than a year without eating. In the end lakes are awesome.

There is 7800 lakes in Florida but received gives the tree support and shows what the water used to be in the lake. Brad maple tree has somewhere with a red spot on it and it also has hair. There’s some plants that slow down the water. Also sand and rocks slow down the water. Yellow belly sliders has smooth shell. The crawfish does not have a backbone. Alligators have smooth skin and they eat small things Apex wait for their food There is this fighting fish thing Some plants float on the water If you open this one specific plant it has a sponge filling.Somethings sniper has a feathery like.im done flat

Lakes are interesting because they have trees like a cypress tree that has knees and has feather like leaves. Another tree is the red maple because they can provide many homes for birds. A plant that is common in many lakes is the water lettuce. Another plant that is common but on trees is the Spanish moss. Did you know that Spanish moss has a part of it that you can eat. Some native plants that live around lakes are the cabbage palm and the maple tree. The reason why the native plants help is because it keeps the lake from erosion. Some animals that live in the lakes are the alligator, yellow belied slider, spotted gar, crawfish, anhinga, and scutes. An ability of the alligator is counter shading. Counter shading is the top of an alligator because the top of an alligator is darker than the bottom so birds or any threats have a hard time seeing them have a hard time finding them. Lastly, lakes don't have to be just for animals, they can be for humans to because they can be used to have fun watching, hanging out or even boating.

The first plant that is important are the cypress trees. They are actually adapted to live there. They can protect the land so that it doesn’t get destroyed because when it hits the cypress trees knees it will make the water go slower and not damage it as much. Cabbage palms are native plants meaning it is also meant to live there. Some plants float on The water as well. One of the plants that float on the water is the water lettuce. There are plants called duck potatoes in there are near the sand. Did you know that birds dry their feathers before they dive in again. Also alligators at Circle B eat smaller predators. Alligators can actually live without food for a year. That is crazy! The last two facts I have are about the lakes. There are 7800 total lakes. That’s a lot of lakes! The last fact is lakes are a great place to do things. You just have to be careful with what you do. That is what I learned about Circle B lakes.

I learned that there are 7800 lakes in Florida and 550 of them are in Polk County that’s a lot of lakes. In lakes there is no flowing water. The perimeter of a lake. As you may know there are probably going to be a alligator in a lake depending on where you live like if you live in California you probably won’t have a alligator in your lake but if you live in Louisiana or Florida you are probably going to have an alligator in a lake. Alligators can you go one year without food. Now you know all about Florida lakes.

The plant and animal life is essential for our lake because cypress trees help the water from lakes from coming up and damaging the land. There are some plants that float on the water and those plants help little tiny animals. Another cool plant is a duck potato those plants like to live near sand. One more amazing plant is a red maple tree. Red maple trees either have red on their leaves or red on their branches. Some animals that live in lakes are long nose gar, alligators, anhingas and many more. Alligators are apex predators which means they have no predators and they are at the top of the food chain. Anhingas dry off their feathers before they dive into the water again. Not only plants and animals have fun in lakes but humans do too. My favorite fact about lakes is that out of 7800 lakes in Florida Polk County has 550 of them. Those are some cool facts about lakes, plants, and animals.

Some things that I learned was that, water in Legs usually don’t flow. I also learned that a lake is a large body of water and you can find cypress trees all around. A fact about Cypress tree is that help the soil. I also learned that there is a type of plant that lives on top of water it is called water lettuce. Another type of plant or what you want to call a cypress . Another type of Cypress that you can find is a cypress palm. Some animals that you can fine are great egret, crawfish, Yellow belly sliders and alligators. Here are some facts about alligators, did you know that alligators shed, alligators can go for a year without eating and last but not least a alligator is a Apex predator. These are the things I learned.

There are plants and animals that have adaptations to survive in a lake. Plants along the shore line help to prevent erosion. There are some birds you may see at a lake that can dive into a lake to capture there prey. Alligators have a type of camouflage called counter shading. They can also go a whole year without having any food! The Yellow Bellied Slider has webbed feet so it can swim faster and steadily.

To start off with, lakes are beautiful thing. The tree at a lake are the red maple and cypress trees. The cypress tree have knees that are called cypress knees that helps eroding from the waves. Eroding is when a wave in a lake keeps hitting the shore or dirt and the shore line falls apart. Some animals are the spotted gar, anhinga, and the alligators.

To start of the plants there are really important. One type of plant is the cypress tree. It helps erosion. The roots fan out so it stays stable and firm. It can also provide shade for animals. The next plant is a water hiaasen. Even though it’s invasive it’s still here. These float on the water, because of a spongy stem. It also has air pockets to help keep afloat. Another plan is Spanish moss. It hangs from trees, and sucks up the nutrients out of the air. Before I get into the animals, I want to talk about the much in lakes. In lake Hancock it’s depth is around 60ft, but because of muck it is only 4. Going into the animals we have the alligator. It’s back is hard because of its scutes. It has counter shading, this means that from a birds eye view you see the dark back of a alligator against the dark water, but also if you are under it you see the white of its belly against the sky, so it blends in both ways. To finish I would like to mention the yellow belly sliders. They also blend in with their shell, the shell looks like ripples, so it camouflages itself with the water.

In are lakes there are many animals like the . The great egret is a bird the is white. It is prepared to live in our lakes they have very long legs and when they need to fly they will fly. And the alligators have counter shadingThat means if an animal is looking from under them they see. lightness from their belly but if there are looking above the animal they will see darkness or the color of the lake. The plants are ready for anything when they’re by the lake because. They are very strong and have wider roots so they are more strong.

Lakes in Florida are home to many plants and animals. The Cypress trees prevent erosion along the shore of the lake. Alligators are apex predators. That means they are at the top of the food chain. They make sure that the lake does not get overpopulated. yellow bellied sliders have something called counter shading. That means they are dark on the top of there body and light on the bottom of there body. Alligators have counter shading too. Yellow bellied sliders and alligators also have scutes this makes them look like the ripples in the water.

Animal life is dependent on our lakes. There are 7,800 lakes in Florida. These lakes provide shelter for large animals like alligators and small animals like fish. Some types of trees that are found in lakes are Cypress trees. One of the Cypress trees have leaves that look like feathers. If the leaves have lines on them then it means that the water has been that high. There are some plants that only float on water. Lakes help these types of plants grow because most lakes don’t have flowing water. Plants depend on lakes for survival and animals depend on lakes and plants.

Cypress trees gibve alot of info from their trunk. Not all plants are attatched to roots. Water lettuce has hanging roots, and its invasive. Red maple trees provide homes for birds. Native plants are plants that have been in the area. Cabbage palms are good food for people and animals. Waves hit shore but are slowed down by cypress knees. Yellow belly sliders live in the lake. To conclude, lakes have alot of different features.

There are more than 7,000 lakes in Florida, lakes have vegetation such as Cypress trees and Pom trees. Shorter trees are adapted to their area. Another type of vegetation is Maple trees you are able to tell because of the red on their branches. Native plants are plants that grow where there supposed to grow. Waves are slowed down because of the trees and other vegetation. Some animals are alligators, yellow back sliders and spotted gar. Alligators have these holes called scutes on their snouts.🐊🐢

Here are some interesting things about Lake Hancock. First, the plants are bad...but also good. The bad part is that the plants can take over the lake and it would look like it was a part of the ground. The good part is the plants provide shelter for the fish. Some plants can be good in other ways, also. Next, the animals can effect the lake. Fish can clean the lake and the birds keep the fish population under control. Here are some fun facts about Lake Hancock. The deepest spot is sixteen feet deep. There are cypress trees everywhere along the edge.

Some animals that live in lakes are; American alligators, yellow belly sliders, and ghost shrimp! Cypress trees grow on the perimeter of lakes and their roots grow up instead of down. Cypress trees get rid of dirt when it comes shore. Many animals depend on them. There is also water hyasin and water lettuce. Animals like apple snails and yellow belly sliders eat plants like those.
