Cause some animals can’t live in low ground they have to be in high ground. There are red deer, mountain lions, wildcats, birds, and snakes.

We need unique Uplands for are water. The soil there sucks in the rain and can sink into the aquifer. Some of the animals that live in the unique uplands are the gofer tortoise, pocket gofer, rattle snake, dung beetles, and more.

Why are uplands important to our ecosystem? Well upland plants are like a water bottle they store water in case there’s a fire. Pine trees needles are spikey and and hold water. Gofer tortoises are needed in uplands. They dig burrows that can be homes to 350 other species of Gofer tortoise. It can also be a home for gofer frog, gofer mouse and a food hotspot for a dung beetles. A prickly pear cactus is a gofer tortoises favorite food. If you go walking in a upland you will probably see a couple butterflies and you might just see a black racer. Now last but not least the soil. Soil in uplands are dry. If you see a white mound of sand it’s most likely a pocket gofer mound. Now you know all about Uplands and why they are important.

It is very important that we have uplands because that is where pine trees can spread there seeds, the fire pops the shell and the seeds get spread all around. Also gopher tortoises live there. That is where they get there food and water, from plants that store water inside there leaves. Also the animals that live with gopher tortoises depend on them, like the dung beetle, he eats the food inside of the gophers scat. Animals like snakes, bugs, rodents, and raccoons live inside or around there burrows.

Her are some cool things about uplands. You will find many pine trees in Sandhills. Sandhills were also ancient beaches of Florida. Uplands look dry but there are actually lots of water underground. Fires made Sandhills look like what they look like. Species that live there can survive fires because of their adaptations. The pine trees actually need fire because it helps their seeds move around. The needles in pine trees have water inside of them. The bark on pine trees is really thick to keep water inside. The saw palmetto’s tiny spikes help prevent predators to not eat them. Gopher tortoises favorite food are prickly pear cactuses. Gopher tortoises are keystone species because their burrow can hold 350 different kinds of animals. The gopher tortoise would die if they didn’t have their shells because their backbone is connected to the shell. A gopher tortoises predators are coyotes and raccoons. Also gopher tortoises lay their eggs in a place in their burrow called a apron. Those are some cool things about the uplands.

In the uplands their are pine trees some upland habitats are rar the uplands mantas it’s self by the fire. Instead of a lighting strike people come out with tools and they bearn the srawndings to help the place. The animals there are adapted to the fire the pine trees need the fire to spread seeds and the pine trees have a waxy stuff on their leaves to trap water. The grass their is adapted to fire other plants their are adapted to fire like the palmetto did you know the palmetto has teeth in the middle of it and the palmetto can grow to be seven feet tall. A baby pine tree looks like the grass their the prickly cactus stores water inside it. The gofer tortes favorite food is the prickly cactus 350 creators live in a gofer’s nest gofer poop is called scap pocket gofer has two big teeth.

Today I am going to explain the uplands and it’s unique plants and animal’s. First I will talk about how they are important. They are important because they filter are water and give homes to a lot of animals like the gopher tortoise. Now I will talk about it’s unique animals. The gopher tortoise digs a burrow that 350 animals can live in. And gopher tortoises have feet like shovels to dig there burrows. And in the burrow a dung beetle acts like a made by cleaning the gopher tortoises poop or scat. Now I’m going to talk to you about the unique plant's. The palmettos have teeth like a saw and the prickly pair cactus stores a lot of water. The fire grass LOVES fire and burns really quickly and they also do something called controlled fire that burn every thing but every thing Is fireproof and everything grows back in 2 weeks. That is everything I learned about the uplands.

These are some things that I learned after watching the video. Some things I learned were about the cool plants and animals that live there.Did you know that wild fires actually help the plants stay in shape???Im going to tell you some of the interesting plants I learned about,I learned that Salmetto has heat protection and is very sharp!!! There’s also a plant called Glazing Star it’s is a flower that turns pink and purple.Pine trees are also found in the uplands.Prikly pear cactuses are so sharp Gogher tortoises eat the cactuses they also have great protection. The gogher tortoises make borrows which help 350 different species so they are very important to the eco system. Those are most of the things I learned today!!!

Unique Uplands are made up of sandy hill and dry soil that like fire and a lot of plants and animals. There are pine trees like fire when fires come they explodes with seeds and grow new ones and food of the animals. The animals are snakes , po-kit gofers, gopher tortoise and many more. The Gopher tortoises make a barrows that makes more homes of other animals and is a key stone animal. Rat-cook come and dig up gopher tortoise eggs. The dug Beatles eat the poop of the gopher tortoise. The plants are the Fire grass, the gopher apples, and the saw plalmto.

It is important that we have the uplands because there is lots of water. It is also home to lots of animals such as gopher tortoises, butterflies, and other animals. The gopher tortoises live in burrows near mounds. In front of the burrow there is an apron that has eggs on it so people try not to step on them. The other part of the burrow is keystone. If it wasn’t there the burrow would collapse. Their burrow is mostly straight down. When they poop a dung beetle comes and eats there poop/scat. There is also snakes in the upland. Also, the uplands have lots of pine trees. The pine trees actually need fire. They need fire because because when the pine cones burn the seeds go everywhere and then they plant new pine trees. Even though the upland look dry there is actually lots of water. When is rains it is either soaked up into the leaves of pine trees or it will go super quick through the ground. The pine trees are also far apart. Finally there is prickly pear cacti.

A unique upland is a area that has many species of plants and animals such as gopher tortoises and palm trees and fire grass. These species are used to fires and the plants such as fire grass when a fire or wild fire comes through it does get burned but it grows back very fast. Gopher tortoises make burrows that over 450 species of other animals but they are used to fire. Wild fires in unique uplands fire helps all the plants grow back and even faster with all the ash.

The Unique Uplands is a place with dry, sandy soil. The sand particles there are very big. The land itself is from the ancient beaches of Florida that got put underwater. Most plants and species there are adapted to fire. The fire helps seeds grow more pine trees. Some common plants you will find there are Saw Palmettos, Pine Trees, Prickly Pear Cactus, and the Bursting Star plant. They all have a big purpose in the Unique Uplands. Some animals are Gopher Tortoises, Snakes, Gopher Frogs, and Gopher Mice. The Gopher Tortoise is a Keystone species, and some snakes are Black Racers and Rattlesnakes. The Gopher Tortoise lives in burrows. They’re evidence is Mounds and Shells.

Uplands are important to our environment because many different animals and plants live there. First, animals such as gopher tortoises, pocket gophers, many different types of snakes, and even dung beetles! Some plants that are in the uplands are, the peach cactus, saw palmetto, pine trees, and fire grass. People intentionally make fires to make more plants. Uplands are considered a water storage. Many animals depend on the plants in the uplands that store water. Mainly gopher tortoises. Gopher tortoises dig burrows to live in. Over 350 more animals live in the burrow too! Those are some reasons the uplands are important.

Pine trees are the most amount of trees that you will see.the trees are spread out. They love the fires because it helps them live some of the plants that they have are pointy and very spiky. Some of the tortoises will go in there burrow so that they can protect them selves. When they go in there burrow they can even change collors

Why are uplands important to our ecosystem? Animals such as gopher tortoises, snakes and many more, call the place home. The animals and plants that live there need the uplands to sleep, eat, and live there life. A couple of tips when your in the uplands is to watch where you step, you could accidentally step on a gopher tortoises burrow or even he/she’s eggs. Another tip is to watch out for there skin like gopher tortoises shells or snakes skin and there poop. A few plants that live there are palm trees, cactus, and more. The uplands is a wonderful place

The uplands are important to our ecosystem because many different animals live in the uplands.Plants also love there. For an example an animal is a gopher tourtouis. There shells have their spine made in the shell so if they get out of their shell they will die.A plant example is a prickly cactus. It is a plant the gopher tourtouis eat.All the juice in side the gopher toutouist like. The uplands have dry sand which is dry from when Florida was underwater. The uplands need fire for the palm trees to grow.

Some plants that an upland might have is a prickly pear cactus, pine tree, and a saw palmetto. A gopher tortoise eats the prickly pear cactus. A gopher tortoise lives in something called a burrow. You will know when it’s a gopher tortoise’s burrow because there burrows are shaped like a half moon. A gopher tortoises spine is attached to their shell, so there shell grows with them. Gopher tortoises snakes and many other animals can all be found in the wonderful Circle-B.

There are lots of uplands. One of the uplands is a sandy upland. The sandy uplands has sand, grass, plants, and trees. The sand is like the beach sand. Sometimes when a wild fire comes through their would not be al lot of plants from the fire but it would eventually grow back. When a fire goes through a pine tree it will take a while because it will be hard to go through. A great upland specie like the palmetto tree, it has needles. A preakly pare cactus is a really spiky and the plant is full of water. Gopher turtle digs borrows. Around the borrow is called a apron, and apron is where a gopher turtle puts there eggs and digs them. The spine of a gopher turtle is on the shell so it’s there heart. A dung beetle cleans up the gopher turtles poop, that’s why the beetle is called dung beetle because another word for poop is dung and it’s a beetle. This is why the sandy uplands are important to protect them.

To start off, the uplands are important because they give homes to many different plants and animals. One of the animals is the gopher tortoise, they are important because they are a keystone species, that means if they are taken out of the food chain, then the whole chain will collapse and suffer. One type of plant is the pine tree, as you probably know they produce pine cones, the upland species are adapted to fire, so when I fire comes by the waxy coating on the pine needles keep it safe, and when the pine cones catch fire they pop open and explode, that sends the seeds inside flying everywhere. Another plant is the saw palmetto, it gets its name from its stem, the stem has a bunch of little spikes on them so if a animal tries to eat it they get stabbed and they stop. The last plant I’m going to talk about is the fire grass, it burns easily, but it also grows fast.

A upland is a habituate with sand all over. There are different types of uplands a lot of them are are sandy. One of the plants is a pine tree. Pine trees are noticed there a lot because of the sun pine trees can’t live in shade so they are mostly in uplands. Uplands used to be flooded with water but now they are kinda a beach because of all the sand. Uplands look like beaches because from fire they burn parts of uplands to keep it from making wild fires. Animals and plants that live there are adapted to fire so they thrive to survive.

In the uplands there are very cool animals and plants. The animals and plants have to get used to have fires. Some plants have a wax feeling and the leaves are very small. One of the plants are the saw palm .The name comes from how sharp it is.One of the animals is a gofer tortoise it make a hole and that is gofer tortoise.

In the uplands you should see that it is very sandy it also has plants! There’s more things than just the ecosystems there are also animals. You can find evidence by looking around sometimes there are Gropher tortoise burrows and snake skin it might even be poop 💩.That is what I learned about the uplands.

Sandy hills pine trees are in the uplands.A sertent time of metow can servive fire.small pine trees look like a bush a another size are 4 feet tall. Tortious in the uplands make burrows. Their is a upland cactus that stores water that some animals like. Pine trees can servive in the fire in the uplands. Pine trees do not like shade not heathy dry sandy soil like beach. Uplands have water storage. Dum betels eat tortes poop. And that is what I learned.

The uplands are important because they are elevated so they are very dry. A plant that lives there is a pine tree. Pine trees like to be spread out and whenever a fire comes the pine cones pop. That causes the seeds inside to spread. An animal that lives there is the gopher tortoise. It is a keystone species because it digs burrows.

We have the uplands because some animals need that kind of habitat, and it provides shelter for the animals. Some animals that live there are tortoises and certain birds. This area can be caught on fire because it is very dry. Another thing is that the plants have adapted to the environment some of the things that help these plants survive is thin needle like leaves that are covered with a wax like substance like pine trees.

The uplands is a place where plants, animals, and more live but first I’m going to talk about the plants. The pine tree is a tree that has thees long skinny looking leafs and has thick bark. It also has a burn mark from were the fire goes up to. The next plant is the price pear. The prickle pear is a cactus that holds lot’s and lot’s of water inside of it. It also has adapted to make it’s self prickly so animals can’t eat it. Lastly we have the solpalmetto. The solpalmetto is a plant that has leafs like the pine tree but the plant is low to the ground like a bush. The Golfer tortoise is a type of tortoise that provides a home for over 150 animals, have claws on there feet, dig burrows, and is a keystone animal. The climates( natural disasters) are pretty wild in the uplands because there are fire’s(totally normal) and extreme winds. Lastly the ecosystem in the uplands is pretty interesting because there there are over 150 animals and there are keystone animals. Now, you may ask, what are keystone animals? Well keystone animals are animals that are important to an ecosystem. They are important because if they go extinct they can make the whole entire ecosystem collapse.

The uplands, so the uplands are important because they have gopher tortoises🐢 which are a KEYSTONE species. Also some more keystone species live here. Another fact is that fire blazes through these areas. So the trees and animals are prepared (ones not built for fires will die like this😵) And some animals (that I know live there) are: gopher tortoises and snakes. (Also this one time a gopher tortoise was on my back porch. And as I watched it I learned, TURTLES ARE NOT SLOW!!! HE WENT ZOOM ZOOM ACROSS MY PORCH!!!)

It is important that we have them because they are interested places like in Circle B. On the video it said that, “Gopher Tortoises is a keystone species. The gopher tortoise knows what to do when a fire comes. It is sad when people step on ants nest because they go down and bite on the gopher tortoise. You can find gopher tortoises by looking for your poop. You can also look for their shells. It is cool that 350 other animals live in burrows to. It is cool how people intentionally make a fire to help other things grow. Those are some things that I learned.
